Creative Director - Experiential & Live Experiences

Contract: Maternity Cover / Fixed-Term Contract

Start: Immediate
Sector: Experiential / Brand Experience / Live Events

We’re working with a leading creative studio looking for an experienced Creative Director to join the team on a maternity cover contract.

This is a senior, hands-on creative role for someone who knows how to turn a strategic brief into a big idea and then build a compelling world, story, and experience around it.

You’ll lead the creative vision across major experiential projects and pitches, working with multidisciplinary teams to create ambitious live experiences, activations, and brand moments.

We’re looking for someone with impeccable creative judgement and a strong visual eye, but equally importantly, someone who can articulate an idea: building the narrative, presenting it convincingly, and inspiring clients and creative teams to believe in it.

The Role

  • Lead the creative vision and direction across experiential and live brand projects
  • Translate strategic and client briefs into original, culturally relevant, and memorable creative concepts
  • Develop the big idea, narrative, audience journey, and visual world behind an experience
  • Lead creative responses for major pitches and new-business opportunities
  • Set the creative bar and provide clear direction to multidisciplinary teams across design, motion, spatial, content, and experience
  • Lead brainstorms, workshops, and creative reviews, helping teams push ideas beyond the expected
  • Build strong creative narratives, treatments, and pitch presentations that communicate both the idea and the thinking behind it
  • Present and sell creative concepts confidently to senior clients and stakeholders
  • Challenge briefs constructively and act as a trusted senior creative voice with clients
  • Direct designers and creative specialists, providing clear feedback while allowing specialists room to do their best work
  • Work closely with strategy to ensure creative ideas are grounded in audience, culture, and brand
  • Collaborate with production and technical teams to ensure ambitious ideas can be realized without compromising the creative vision
  • Maintain creative oversight as projects develop, ensuring the original idea remains coherent across every audience touchpoint
  • Bring fresh references, technologies, cultural influences, and emerging creative approaches into the studio
  • Help foster an ambitious, collaborative creative culture and raise the standard of work around you

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Relevant Backgrounds

We’re especially interested in people coming from experiential agencies, live content studios, brand experience, immersive entertainment, or multidisciplinary creative studios.

Your portfolio might span large-scale brand activations, launches, cultural experiences, immersive environments, live entertainment, or unusual physical spaces.

You don't need to be the person physically producing every asset. You do need to be the person who knows what the idea should be, why it works, what it should look and feel like, and how to get the best creative work from the people around you.
