Role Summary

We are looking for an intermediate-level creative to join the Journey team. You will be able to concept and direct small-scale, stand-alone projects, extract simple stories from complex briefs, and have the confidence and experience to work effectively with clients, freelancers, and our project teams.

Whether you are from a spatial/architectural background or if your experience is in the world of video & animation, you will bring your established and refined design skills to take on the projects within our rich, ever-expanding, global portfolio.

Journey: Some selected example projects relating to this role's team that include Built Environment Films, Exhibitions and Sales Suites

  • MIT Data Clouds at Venice Biennale
  • Mindfulness City
  • City of Telosa
  • The Plaza at 1221
  • AIRSIDE Sales Suite

Key Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Distill project information into a narrative to successfully tell the story across simpler deliverables.
  • Create narrative structures for clients to sign off.
  • Champion production process across key areas of work.
  • Concept and direct small-scale standalone projects and be a key team member on larger scope projects.
  • Communicate and cross-collaborate with other team members to drive conceptual thinking on your projects.
  • Brief artists on projects in a clear and concise manner.
  • Be an active participant in client presentations, taking the lead from senior creatives.

Required

  • Degree qualification in a relevant field
  • 3 to 5 years' experience within a relevant design agency/production environment.
  • Be able to demonstrate examples where you have used your own initiative and had a level of responsibility and autonomy on multiple projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and experience building and maintaining client relationships.
  • Proven organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and efficient working style.
  • Experience with Google Suite, specifically Google Slides.
  • Strong copywriting skills.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite softwares. This can look like one or multiple of the following: strong graphic skills in Photoshop and/or Illustrator, strong editing (Premiere Pro), strong 2D Animation skills in AfterEffects, etc.
  • Learning mindset: A proactive and curious approach to design processes
  • Calm, confident, and consistent under pressure, able to receive feedback constructively and take input gracefully
  • Positive and approachable: a team player who enjoys working collaboratively and providing support where needed

Desirable

  • An established understanding of spatial design and/or interactive design
  • An interest in and experience with narrative/story-driven design work
  • Familiarity with Figma and/or Miro
  • An ability to work collaboratively with other specialisms within a project team
  • 3D modelling and animation skills using Autodesk 3ds Max, Cinema 4D, Unreal, or other similar softwares
  • An interest in contributing to a diverse, global portfolio

Location

This role is based within our London Studios. We value regular in-person collaboration because we think it leads to the best creative work; however, hybrid working is available around project commitments. The specific team this role relates to generally works in the studio 3 days per week.
