Contract: Fixed Term

We are on the lookout for a Creative Graphic Designer to join our Creative Team at our Mayborn HQ on a fixed term basis!

Working as part of the Creative Team, you will be responsible for the production of forward thinking, trend and ownable colour and decoration-based designs across a range of products and categories.

Working with the Creative CMF Lead you will be critical in the creation of new forward-thinking products. You will create product collections, understand commerciality of product ranges, and drive our brand aesthetics across the portfolio. You will be responsible for spear heading the style and design of the business and influence product from the beginning to the end of the product design process.

You will have a strong understanding of the brand aesthetic with clear focus on who our consumers are and where we are driving the brand. You will be passionate about your work and confident in presenting your designs to several key internal stakeholders, regularly bringing ideas and newness to the table.

What you will be doing:

  • Working within Adobe Software.
  • Creating product renders to bring designs to life.
  • Regularly involved in the design of products, from creating graphics, prints, working up colourways and working with the industrial design team on materials, and finishes.
  • Closely working with the CMF Lead who will set the direction for your work. You will interpret and understand briefs, use annual trends to influence your work, create ownable colour and decoration and create annual trend-based products for retailer exclusives.
  • Work daily with the Industrial design team, product category teams, project and product managers and factories to ensure a strong delivery of projects.
  • Collaborate internally with the category product teams to ensure our brand is truly represented through all your design work. Be up to date with what is happening within each category across the market.
  • Inspire the business on the importance of style and design, to keep our brand in a leading position. Create brand love and step change our product appeal across categories.
  • Use the brand VBL to ensure all designs are true to the brand and the portfolio has a consistent and cohesive look and feel.
  • Manage a busy and full workload to ensure all deadlines are completed on time.
  • Be up to date, research and understand the importance of trends within the baby category and how our competitors do this across the globe. Regularly looking for inspiration.
  • Work with CMF lead to review product ranges to ensure the brand has a coherent on brand look and feel.

  • Experience of creating illustrations for physical products would be desirable.
  • Creative thinker and problem solver.
  • Product render skills – AI programming knowledge.
  • Strong photoshop and Illustration skills.
  • Ability to apply product and graphic artwork to product specs ensuring all information.
  • Willing and able to receive and decipher feedback.
  • Degree level in graphic design.
  • Previous design experience in graphic design for product.
  • Able to demonstrate a sound commercial understanding and a successful track record of launching consumer products and brands.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of the designing for product and ideally come from a brand background.
