Creative Lead

Salary: £63,000 per annum, plus company benefits

Location: Leeds, LS10 1AB

Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Shifts: 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 9am until 6pm with 1 hour unpaid break

Work model: Hybrid, 2 days in and 3 days at home but in office frequently as needed

About the Role

Williams Lea seeks a Creative Lead to join our team!

Williams Lea is the leading global provider of skilled, technology-enabled, business-critical support services, with long-term trusted relationships with blue-chip clients across investment banks, law firms and professional services firms. Williams Lea employees, nearly 7000 people worldwide, who provide efficient business services at client sites in often complex and highly regulated environments, from centralised Williams Lea onshore facilities, and through best cost company offshore locations.

Purpose of Role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Creative Lead, based at our Onshore Delivery Centre in Leeds, to work alongside our global delivery team supporting a high profile, international legal client. This role is client-facing and requires a strong blend of creative excellence, operational rigor, and people leadership.

The Creative Lead will oversee creative output, ensure quality and consistency, establish scalable processes, and act as a trusted partner to the client. You will also be responsible for the day-to-day management of the design team based in Leeds.

Key Responsibilities

Client Partnership

  • Serve as the primary creative point of contact for our client in relation to creative work.
  • Build strong, trusted relationships through proactive communication and strategic guidance.
  • Interpret and challenge the brief requirements, offering the best solution for clients.
  • Present work confidently, articulating creative rationale and ensuring alignment with client objectives.
  • Anticipate client needs and provide consultative recommendations.
  • Take responsibility for escalating or resolving, as appropriate, any client issues, regularly communicating updates to the Global Account Director and Business Director.

Creative Oversight & Quality Assurance

  • Oversee the development of all creative deliverables to ensure accuracy, clarity, and brand alignment.
  • Quality-check all work before client delivery, maintaining exceptionally high standards.
  • Provide constructive, actionable feedback to creative team members.
  • Ensure all materials meet legal and compliance sensitivities specific to the client environment.
  • Champion continuous improvement in creative output.

Team Leadership & People Management

  • Manage and mentor a team of designers.
  • Conduct regular performance check-ins, development conversations, and reviews.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and creative excellence.
  • Support workload planning and resource allocation.
  • Identify skill gaps and support professional development initiatives.

Process & Ways of Working

  • Establish and implement structured creative processes tailored to a legal client environment.
  • Develop clear workflows, briefing templates, review protocols, and approval pathways.
  • Define quality control standards and ensure adherence across the team.
  • Improve efficiency through scalable systems and documentation.
  • Create governance frameworks to manage revisions, feedback loops, and version control.
  • Partner with the global operations team operations to optimise delivery timelines.

Personal attributes

  • Proven experience in a Creative Lead or similar leadership role.
  • Formally design trained with a relevant qualification in graphic design or relevant industry experience.
  • Working knowledge MS Office, especially Powerpoint.
  • Experience working with legal, financial, or other highly regulated clients preferred.
  • Strong understanding of brand, visual communication, and content strategy.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and developing creative teams.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Experience building or refining creative processes and operational frameworks.
  • Confident client-facing presence with strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to simplify complex or technical subject matter into accessible creative solutions.
