Job Title: Creative Marketing Specialist
Department: Marketing & Communications
Location: Aberdeen
About The Role
Global is looking for an experienced Creative Marketing Specialist to join the Group Comms & Marketing Team.
The role will support marketing activity across a group of businesses within Global's energy portfolio, working closely with the wider Comms & Marketing Team and stakeholders across the businesses to deliver high-quality marketing and creative communications. This is a hybrid marketing and creative role, with a stronger emphasis on creative delivery, combining a good understanding of marketing and communications with strong visual judgement and practical design capability.
The role will cover a broad range of marketing activity, including content creation, social media, website content, campaigns, brand application, presentations and proposals, events and wider marketing collateral. The successful candidate will be expected to understand the audience, objective, message and channel behind the work, contribute ideas and help determine the most effective way to communicate it.
A strong creative eye will be important, along with the practical capability to turn ideas, information and briefs into polished, professional and brand-consistent communications. This will include presentations, proposals, reports, case studies, brochures, capability statements, campaign assets, social and digital content and other marketing materials using Adobe Creative Cloud, PowerPoint, Canva and Microsoft products. A good understanding of layout, typography, imagery, information hierarchy and visual storytelling will be important, particularly when translating complex technical or operational information into clear, engaging and client-ready materials.
There will also be opportunities to support wider Group marketing activity across campaigns, content, events, internal communications and brand development. The role would suit someone who enjoys working across both marketing and creative delivery - a marketer with particularly strong creative capability, or a creative professional with a good understanding of marketing and communications. Experience using AI-powered design and content tools would also be highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate brand, marketing and commercial briefs into high-quality creative communications across digital and physical channels.
- Design and produce presentations, proposals, reports, capability statements, brochures, case studies, campaign materials, event collateral, social media graphics, internal communications and other marketing assets.
- Develop creative concepts and visual approaches for marketing campaigns, business announcements, project milestones, service launches and other communications activity.
- Work closely with the Brand Manager to translate established brand strategy, positioning and messaging into effective visual communications.
- Apply Global and individual business brand identities across different audiences, channels and formats, maintaining a consistently high standard of execution.
- Use layout, typography, imagery, messaging hierarchy, infographics and visual storytelling to simplify complex technical and operational information and make it engaging and accessible.
- Support the development of client-facing and business development materials, working with marketing, business development and operational teams to turn technical content into clear, credible and visually compelling communications.
- Create digital content and creative assets for websites, social media, email marketing and campaigns, considering how creative should adapt across different channels and audiences.
- Create and support written marketing content where required, including social media content, website copy, case studies, campaign messaging, headlines and short-form copy.
- Work directly with stakeholders across Global’s businesses to understand requirements, interrogate briefs and recommend appropriate marketing and creative solutions.
- Support the planning and delivery of marketing campaigns, business announcements, project milestones, events and other communications activity.
- Support website and social media activity across Global and its portfolio businesses, helping to ensure content remains current, engaging and aligned with brand and marketing objectives.
- Manage multiple marketing and creative projects from brief through to delivery, balancing priorities, deadlines and stakeholder requirements while maintaining attention to detail and brand consistency.
- Prepare artwork and liaise with external print, production, photography, videography and other creative suppliers where required.
- Contribute ideas to the ongoing development of Global’s visual language, templates, creative toolkit and wider brand experience.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
