Creative Operations Manager

The Creative Operations Manager is responsible for the effective planning, coordination and delivery of creative work across the in-house Creative team.

Acting as the central point of contact between Marketing, Commercial and Creative teams, this role ensures all creative projects are appropriately prioritised, resourced and delivered on time. The role provides visibility across incoming work, manages team workflows and supports the efficient operation of the Creative department.

Working closely with the Head of Creative & Brand, the Creative Operations Manager will help forecast upcoming demand, improve ways of working and ensure the Creative team is focused on delivering high-quality creative output that supports business objectives.

The role also line manages the Creative Producer, supporting the successful planning and delivery of photography shoots, content production and campaign assets.

Key Responsibilities

Creative Workflow & Project Coordination

  • Own and manage the flow of creative work from brief through to final delivery.
  • Review and prioritise incoming requests based on business priorities, deadlines and team capacity.
  • Create and maintain project schedules, timelines and delivery plans.
  • Ensure clear visibility of project status, priorities and deadlines across stakeholders.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively identify and resolve potential bottlenecks.
  • Facilitate project kick-offs, status meetings and review sessions.
  • Ensure briefs, approvals and feedback are managed effectively throughout the delivery process.

Resource Planning & Team Coordination

  • Coordinate creative resource allocation across Design, Copywriting, Photography, Packaging and Production.
  • Work with team members to balance workloads and ensure projects are delivered efficiently.
  • Support planning of upcoming campaigns, launches and key business initiatives.
  • Maintain visibility of team capacity and highlight any resource risks or challenges.
  • Support the engagement of freelance resource where required.

Creative Operations & Process Improvement

  • Review and improve creative workflows, tools and processes.
  • Ensure project management systems are maintained and adopted consistently across the team.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, templates and ways of working that improve efficiency.
  • Support the implementation of new tools, systems and operational improvements.
  • Monitor delivery performance and identify opportunities to improve team effectiveness.

Planning & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Marketing teams to understand upcoming campaign and content requirements.
  • Support seasonal planning and workload forecasting.
  • Challenge and refine briefs to ensure objectives, deliverables and timelines are clearly defined.
  • Help ensure creative priorities are aligned with wider business needs.
  • Support effective communication and collaboration between Creative, Marketing and Commercial teams.

Stakeholder Management

  • Build strong working relationships with stakeholders across Marketing, Commercial, Product and Ecommerce teams.
  • Act as the day-to-day point of contact for creative project delivery.
  • Communicate project updates, changes and delivery expectations clearly and proactively.
  • Manage expectations around timelines, priorities and team capacity.
  • Champion effective planning and briefing processes across the business.

Team Leadership

  • Line manage the Creative Producer.
  • Support the planning and coordination of campaign productions, photoshoots and content creation projects.
  • Help foster a collaborative, organised and accountable team culture.
  • Support onboarding and adoption of new systems, processes and ways of working.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • 8+ years experience in project management, traffic management, studio management or creative operations within a creative, marketing, retail or agency environment.
  • Proven experience coordinating multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong organisational, planning and prioritisation skills.
  • Experience managing workflows, timelines and resource allocation.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience improving operational processes and ways of working.
  • Good understanding of creative, design and content production workflows.
  • Experience using project management tools such as Monday.com, Asana, Wrike or Jira.
  • Experience managing or supporting the development of team members.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Experience working within an in-house creative studio or retail brand.
  • Knowledge of photography, content production or studio operations.
  • Experience supporting integrated marketing campaigns.
  • Formal project management qualification.
  • Experience within homewares, lifestyle or consumer brands.
