Slingshot AI
Slingshot AI is the team behind Ash, the first AI designed for mental health. Our mission is to make support more accessible and help people change their lives in the ways they want.
We’re building a world-class team by empowering individuals with the autonomy, flexibility, and support they need to do their best work. We dream big, iterate fast, and care deeply. If that sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.
Our team spans machine learning, product, engineering, conversational design, clinical, growth, and operations, with offices in both New York City and London.
We're a well-funded Series A company, having raised $93M from Andreessen Horowitz, Radical Ventures, Forerunner Ventures, plus top-tier tech investors involved in ElevenLabs, Captions, Shopify, Plaid, Notion, Canva, Twitch, Airtable, and many others.
The role
Millions of people already use general purpose AI as a therapist, and millions more are on a waitlist or priced out of care. Demand is not our problem. Getting Ash in front of the people who need it is. Creative is the biggest lever we have on that, and this role owns it.
You will run the full loop yourself, from the angle to the paying user, and you will build the system that makes it repeatable. We are not looking for a winner. We are looking for the engine that keeps producing them, and it has to keep running when you are not in the room.
This is a hands-on role by design. The AI production stack now lets one strong operator out-produce a small studio, and we would rather find that person than build a layer. If you build an engine whose output justifies more people, you will get them and you will run them. We are open to starting fractional or on contract, but we are looking for this to become a full-time seat.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Key responsibilities:
- Own the creative engine end to end: angle, concept, copy, production, launch, read, iterate.
- Build the system that makes it repeatable. Testing cadence, angle library, naming and tagging, and a bank of real user language pulled from communities, reviews, and our own conversations.
- Produce statics and video yourself on the AI stack, at a volume that keeps paid fed and never blocked on creative.
- Write the hooks, headlines, overlays, and scripts, in the voice of the person scrolling.
- Run creative across networks and build for what each one rewards, rather than resizing one idea for all of them.
- Take the read from creative through the web funnel to paying users, and change the funnel to fit the creative rather than the other way round.
- Work closely with media buying, with your own hands on the account and on the data in our MMP.
- Source outside supply where it beats making it internally: creators, UGC, editors, on camera talent.
- Set the visual and verbal point of view for Ash in market. We do not look like the rest of this category, and we do not intend to start.
About you:
- Years of experience making performance creative in a category where creative is the media buy. Subscription apps, gaming, health and fitness, dating, or something equally unforgiving. You have shipped against a CAC target, not just a brand guideline.
- You have taken creative supply from close to zero to high volume monthly output, and you personally made a large share of it.
- You write performance copy at a high level. This is the hardest filter in this process, and everything else can be learned faster.
- The AI production stack is already your default, and you have opinions about which tools are good and which are demos.
- You have worked across more than one ad network and can say specifically how the creative demands differ between them.
- You have seen the whole path from the first frame to the paying user, not just the part that ends at the click.
- You have led a creative team and are choosing a hands-on seat because the tooling changed what one person can do.
- You can set up a clean test, say in advance what would prove you wrong, and read the result honestly.
- You have taste and can defend it with an argument rather than a mood board.
- You want to work on mental health for a reason you can say out loud.

Nice to have:
- You can challenge our media buyer on their own ground, because you have done the buying yourself.
- You have built or reshaped web funnels and landing pages to match the creative that drove the click.
- You have built or run a creator or UGC pipeline, including sourcing, briefing, and quality control.
How we will assess this:
We care much more about the work than the CV. Expect to talk through creative you made, the tests you ran, what you expected to happen and what actually did, and to do a short paid exercise against a live Ash brief.
What we offer:
- A chance to join a passionate tight-knit team working on something to change the world
- Competitive compensation (top of personal market)
- Travel between our NYC / London offices
- Usual startup perks like free lunch and coffee in office + generous learning budget
- We cover your personal therapy
