About Us
DMG New Media is building the next generation of social-first publishing, creating platform-native brands across news, sport, lifestyle, entertainment and culture for global audiences. Our network reaches hundreds of millions of people across social platforms each month, and we're scaling rapidly across both short-form and long-form video.
This role works across the business, but sits primarily within Metro, where we're building a slate of original, talent-fronted shows. Rush Hour Crush and What I Rent are live now, and we're adding new shows to the slate every quarter. We're looking for a Creative Producer to help build what comes next.
About the role
As a Creative Producer, you'll help build and run Metro's slate of original shows - from the first pitch, through to a pilot, into ongoing series. You'll combine creative instinct with hands-on production skill, working closely with hosts, creators and the wider team to build content that's distinctive, watchable and commercially viable.
Main Responsibilities
- Pitch and develop original formats and build them into repeatable shows for TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and beyond.
- Own the shows end-to-end: from pitch, to pilot, to a running series - briefing shoots, writing scripts, and keeping every episode consistent in quality and tone.
- Source and secure talent, locations and kit, and build relationships with hosts and contributors who can carry a format over time.
- Attend and run shoots, directing camera and cast on-set.
- Write scripts, and build format structures and hooks for retention on social.
- Take full ownership and accountability for the shows you run, including how they perform.
- Work closely with creators, hosts and the wider team to keep every show sharp and on-brand - and help connect talent across shows to build a shared audience.
- Use performance data to understand what's working, and refine formats accordingly.
- Spot trends and opportunities - cultural, platform, production or format-related.
- Keep clear, consistent communication on production status across your slate.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Person Specification
- A track record of pitching and building original social video formats - you can talk an idea through from concept, to pilot, to an ongoing series.
- Strong instincts for what makes people stop scrolling, and the ability to write copy, scripts and hooks that are genuinely audience-first.
- Comfortable owning a project end-to-end: briefing and running shoots, managing hosts and contributors, staying on top of every episode across a series.
- A good eye for talent - you can spot what makes someone watchable, and know how to build the kind of relationship that keeps them invested in a format long-term.
- Experience creating for high-profile social channels is an advantage (1M+ follower channels, ideally).
- Comfortable using performance data to judge what's working and adjust a format in response.
- Experience operating cameras is beneficial.
- Some video editing experience (Premiere Pro) is useful but not essential - production and format skills come first here.
- Budget management - able to plan and keep a shoot or series within budget.
- Understanding of legal and editorial guidelines across global markets.
- Able to manage multiple shows and projects at once, within a busy, fast-moving team.
- Flexibility to work outside standard hours around shoots, launches and live moments, as the format demands.
