I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide timely and accurate feedback to licensees, agents, and other partners, utilising your design skills to communicate effectively the requirements of the brand. This may take the form of product mock-ups, redlining drawings or photographs, or quick visuals to explain comments (especially where English is not the first language).
- Maintain clear documentation, tracking of approvals, and proactively managing workflows – identifying potential timeline issues and elevating accordingly.
- Management of the product development tools (i.e. MyMediabox).
- Management of asset delivery systems and arranging timely distribution of assets and brand information to licensees and other partners on a regular basis. This will include uploading assets to our DAM systems and organising metadata.
- Whilst this role will work across all categories, it is envisaged that the role would primarily lead on hardline categories to include:
- 3D character development (including Plush/Soft toy development)
- Toys, Games & Puzzles
- Gifts and Novelty
- Interactive and digital projects (e.g. like Crayola Paint & Play, Roblox etc)
- Liaising with 3rd Party Stakeholders (including creators, producers etc).
- Liaising with commercial sales team, marketing team, and Marketreach team as needed.
- Attending in-person and remote meetings with licensees, agents, retailers, and other partners and suppliers as required.
- Agent and retailer (DTR) management.
- Range planning.
- Collating final visuals for marketing requirements / lookbooks.
- Competitor awareness and trend overviews.
- The role will also include internal product development for our own retail stores.
- Development of tools and assets as needed to improve our systems and processes.
- The role will predominately be working on the Paddington brand but will expand to include other IPs under the Kids & Family umbrella.
