The role:
The creative strategy manager, events plays a central role in developing commercially compelling event solutions that help Economist Enterprise win new business and deepen client relationships. Working across sales and event delivery, this role transforms client objectives into creative, commercially viable event propositions while helping improve the way we develop, position and sell our event offerings.
How you will contribute in this role:
- Lead the strategic development of proposals for bespoke and large-scale event opportunities, translating client objectives into creative, insight-led solutions
- Partner with sales teams to develop commercially compelling propositions that balance client ambition, editorial integrity, commercial objectives and delivery feasibility
- Work with partnership strategists and colleagues across Economist Enterprise to develop integrated client solutions that combine events with research, content and other capabilities where appropriate
- Gather insights from client conversations, proposal outcomes and market trends, making recommendations to strengthen event propositions and commercial approaches
- Own and continuously improve the proposal development process, ensuring proposals are delivered efficiently and to a consistently high standard
- Maintain proposal templates, commercial guidance, case studies and other sales materials that enable high-quality, consistent proposals
- Act as the strategic link between sales, event delivery and partnership strategy teams throughout the proposal development process
What we’re looking for:
- Experience developing strategic proposals or client solutions in a B2B environment
- Strong commercial acumen, including pricing, profitability and delivery considerations
- Experience in live events, or the ability to quickly develop a deep understanding of event design and delivery
- Excellent written communication and storytelling skills
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking, using insight to shape recommendations and client solutions
- Proven ability to influence and build alignment across multidisciplinary teams without direct authority
- Curious, with a commitment to continuous learning
- Adaptable, collaborative and highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Working Arrangements
The majority of our roles operate on a hybrid working pattern, with 3+ days office attendance required.
