Creative Technician
Location: Chessington World of Adventures, Leatherhead Road, Surrey, KT9 2NE
We are looking for a talented and hands-on Creative Technician to join our Technical Services team at Chessington World of Adventures Resort. This is an exciting opportunity to help create, maintain and enhance the immersive themed environments that make our Resort a truly memorable experience for guests.
Working within the Creative Department, you will be responsible for the fabrication, installation, maintenance and restoration of themed props, scenic elements, figures, signage and other guest-facing assets across the Resort. From maintaining attraction theming to supporting major seasonal events, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our environments are presented to the highest standards of quality, safety and creativity.
Key responsibilities include:
- Fabricating, repairing and restoring themed props, scenic assets and attraction features.
- Maintaining the visual quality and presentation of themed environments across the Resort.
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs to minimise operational disruption.
- Installing themed props, signage and decorative features across attractions, hotels and guest areas.
- Safely using a variety of hand tools, woodworking equipment and workshop machinery.
- Supporting the delivery of seasonal events, including Halloween, Christmas and Summer experiences.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across Technical Services, Operations and Projects to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Qualifications & Experience
To be successful in this role, you'll have a passion for craftsmanship and creativity, alongside strong practical skills.
Essential requirements include:
- A relevant qualification or equivalent experience in Prop Making, Scenic Construction, Carpentry, Product Design, Theatre Production, Model Making or a related discipline.
- Experience fabricating, repairing and restoring themed or scenic assets using a variety of materials.
- Strong woodworking skills and experience using hand and power tools.
- Knowledge of fibreglass (GRP), resins, fillers, adhesives and associated repair techniques.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- The ability to interpret technical drawings, design specifications and concept artwork.
- Strong organisational, planning and problem-solving skills.
- A collaborative approach and willingness to support seasonal events and operational requirements.

Pay Range
GBP £15.60/Hr.
