About Ignite Hubs
Ignite Hubs is an education charity for children and young people aged 7 to 24 years old. We inspire the next generation of STEM innovators, creative thinkers and digital whizzes. Our mission is to ignite the potential of young minds by widening horizons and equipping children and young people with the skills, confidence and connections they need to pursue fulfilling careers in technology, STEM and the creative industries. We target girls and those from disadvantaged backgrounds as they remain significantly underrepresented in these fields. We teach over 200 students each week and have positively impacted more than 2,000 children and young people since we started.
We are also proud to be an approved Arts Award Centre and an Approved Activity Provider for the Duke of Edinburgh's Award (DofE). Some students complete our Creative Writing course as part of their DofE Skills Section or work towards an Arts Award qualification.

Role & Responsibilities
We are seeking a friendly and enthusiastic Creative Writing & Storyteller Instructor to join our remote Creative Writing team.
We teach remote creative writing on Wednesdays (Level 1) and Thursdays (Level 2) from 5pm to 6pm for children aged 9 to 16 years old. Classes are during term-time only. Our terms are 8 weeks and there is a break in the middle of at least two weeks, longer for Easter and the Summer holidays.
There are also additional hours available to contribute to the curriculum development and content creation for the Online Learning Platform, which we are currently designing and building. For applicants with publishing experience, there may also be opportunities to contribute to the development of our STEM Career Book Series.
Responsibilities
- Conduct engaging and educational creative writing sessions.
- Contribute to the development of the curriculum, including the sourcing of materials and equipment. Students should have a completed piece of work by the end of the term.
- Possibility to work additional hours by creating resources, projects and content for our Online Learning Platform.

Other Information
We will carry out an Enhanced DBS check and ask for two references.
What we are looking for
- Experience with creative writing
- Excellent storytelling and communication skills
- Experience working with children and/or young people in a formal or informal community setting (desirable).
- Self-motivated, organised and proactive.
- Capable of engaging and inspiring students of all ages.
