A growing, entrepreneurial financial services business based in Central London is looking for an experienced Credit Analyst to join its expanding team. The role offers excellent exposure to property-backed lending, working closely with senior management across the full lending lifecycle.

This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with senior management and gain end-to-end exposure across the lending process, from initial enquiry and underwriting through to valuations, legal documentation and borrower meetings. The successful candidate will have real responsibility from day one, direct exposure to senior decision-makers and excellent progression opportunities within a growing, entrepreneurial team.

The Role:

  • Assess new lending enquiries, reviewing financials, property, risks and overall deal viability.
  • Conduct detailed property and borrower research, including comparable analysis, appraisals, cost plans and business plans using CoStar, Companies House, Zoopla, Rightmove and Google.
  • Prepare indicative terms, credit papers and recommendations for Credit Committee.
  • Manage deals through detailed underwriting to credit approval, working closely with senior management.
  • Liaise directly with brokers and borrowers, attending meetings and obtaining information required for credit approval.
  • Review valuations, source surveyor quotes and assist with facility documentation and loan completion.
  • Reassess transactions as information develops and support ongoing loan book reviews and wider business initiatives.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
