Credit Analyst – International Bank | London
I’m recruiting for a Credit Analyst to join the London branch of a smaller international bank.
This is a broad, hands-on credit role and would particularly suit someone who is already working within a small or specialist bank, where they are used to getting involved across the whole credit process rather than just one part of it.
Please note: this role is 5 days a week in the London office.
The role
Working closely with the Credit & Marketing Manager, you’ll be involved in managing existing lending relationships as well as supporting new business opportunities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing credit applications for Credit Committee and Head Office approval
- Completing annual credit reviews and monitoring existing facilities
- Analysing financial information and assessing credit risk
- Responding to credit queries and providing additional information where required
- Liaising directly with corporate customers
- Working with Credit Administration and external lawyers on facility documentation
- Preparing management and Head Office credit reports
- Attending customer meetings and renewal visits
- Completing KYC and CDD documentation for lending customers
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date credit files
- Supporting the wider Credit & Marketing team with new and existing business

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Who I’m looking for
I’m particularly interested in speaking with Credit Analysts who have gained their experience within a smaller bank, international bank, foreign bank branch or specialist lender.
You should be comfortable taking ownership of credit work from start to finish and dealing directly with customers, rather than working within a very narrow or heavily segmented credit function.

Experience of corporate or commercial lending and preparing full credit applications is important.
This probably won’t suit someone whose experience has been entirely within a large UK clearing or global bank, unless you have previously worked in a smaller banking environment and can demonstrate a genuinely broad credit remit.
Location: London
Working pattern: 5 days per week in the office
Role: Permanent
If you’re currently working in a smaller banking environment and would like a broader role with plenty of exposure across the lending process, I’d be very happy to have a confidential conversation.
Please apply or message me directly for further details.
