Join our Credit and Political Risk team, working closely with colleagues in London, Stockholm, Singapore and Washington, DC. Our diverse portfolio spans all sectors and geographies, covering corporate, financial institution and sovereign risks across a broad range of financing structures. As a Credit Analyst, you’ll contribute to underwriting decisions and portfolio management, gaining exposure to a wide range of international transactions.

The role

Analytical support for the underwriting team in accordance with the credit and underwriting guidelines and business plan.

  • Credit (Private and Public Obligors) and Country analytics input expertise with the wider credit team; a team-wide referral point of contact for colleagues to review cases where appropriate under the guidance of the Portfolio Manager.
  • Support portfolio management and data analysis.

Key accountabilities

Credit Analysis

  • Provide robust review of and recommendation on individual new enquiries and obligors (public and private) as well as country analysis as needed.
  • Document analysis and recommendation on individual credit reviews and complete the associated tools for data capture.
  • Complete specific project work as required by Portfolio Manager.
  • Monitor, Analyse and generate Management Information (MI) for the existing and growing account portfolio.
  • Support Credit Unit colleagues to provide Underwriting colleagues with individual credit reviews in a timely fashion.

Client/Broker Relations

  • Attend ad hoc client/stakeholder meetings as well as relevant industry events.
  • Attend &/or set-up 3rd party information provider calls and meetings (S&P, IHS, Factiva, Credit Benchmark etc).

Technical Expertise

  • Credit Analysis (Company and Country level) and Country Analysis.
  • Portfolio monitoring and generation/review of Management Information.
  • Further tasks and functions which will benefit from an experienced analytical figure.

Process Improvement and Projects

  • Identify and enhance the quality and value of processes for your area of work.
  • Assist in end to end project management for functional projects and contribute to any Branch wide projects, supporting the Portfolio Manager.

Risk and Controls

  • Maintain process controls to ensure the quality of the output for your area/team within the function. Ensure documentation of the processes and output is accurate, up-to-date and accessible.

Reporting

  • Deliver, complete and analyse reports, identify and recommend any solutions to reporting issues in line with group/branch requirements.

Skills & experience

  • Technical credit analysis (company and country) knowledge.
  • Portfolio management (including MI) knowledge.
  • Degree or equivalent working experience.
  • CFA qualification is desirable.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to influence.
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and data presentation skill.
  • Superior service approach.
  • Organised and reliable.
