Credit Analyst – Trade Finance / Commodity Finance

London | Permanent | Up to £80,000

ETRA Talent is recruiting for an established international wholesale bank that provides tailored financing solutions to corporate and institutional clients.

The bank supports cross-border trade and investment through corporate lending, transaction banking, trade finance and structured finance. Its work includes financing the international movement of goods and commodities through facilities such as letters of credit, guarantees, receivables finance, working-capital facilities, pre-export finance and other structured trade solutions.

We are looking for an experienced Credit Analyst with a strong background in corporate credit underwriting and direct exposure to trade finance or commodity finance.

This is a credit-analysis position, not a trade-finance operations or document-processing role.

The role

You will be responsible for assessing and monitoring corporate credit risk across a varied international portfolio. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Undertaking detailed financial and credit analysis of corporate borrowers.
  • Assessing new transactions, facility renewals and annual credit reviews.
  • Preparing high-quality credit papers and presenting clear recommendations to senior stakeholders and credit committees.
  • Reviewing transaction structures, repayment sources, security, collateral and facility documentation.
  • Assessing risks connected with trade flows, commodities, counterparties, jurisdictions and individual transactions.
  • Analysing financial statements, cash flow, leverage, liquidity and debt-servicing capacity.
  • Monitoring limits, covenants, exposures and changes in borrower performance.
  • Working closely with relationship managers, front-office teams, legal, operations and other risk functions.
  • Supporting the continued development of the bank’s credit portfolio and underwriting standards.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
