As a Credit Control Clerk based in London, you will be responsible for overseeing the accounts receivable function within a dynamic finance team. Your day-to-day activities will involve:
- Processing invoices
- Allocating payments
- Monitoring outstanding balances
- Conducting credit control via phone and email
- Resolving queries
- Producing debtor reports for management
- Reconciling sales ledgers
- Processing credit notes
- Setting up customer accounts
- Assisting with month-end procedures
- Supporting cash flow reporting
- Maintaining accurate financial records in line with company policies
- Ensuring compliance with financial controls
- Providing assistance on ad hoc tasks
Success in this role requires attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, strong interpersonal abilities for communicating with customers and colleagues alike, as well as a commitment to supporting the wider team. You will have the chance to work collaboratively across departments while developing your expertise in credit control within a nurturing environment that values dependability and accuracy.

Ideal Candidate:
- Proven experience in accounts receivable or credit control roles within sectors such as food service, hospitality, retail or distribution.
- Familiarity with accounting software systems like Sage or Xero.
- Exceptional attention to detail coupled with strong numerical skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly - both verbally and in writing.
- Organisational prowess allowing you to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Adaptability and remaining calm under pressure.
- Values teamwork and collaboration, contributing positively to communal goals while also being dependable when working independently.
- Professionalism in handling confidential information.
- Willingness to support colleagues, enhancing the inclusive culture of the organisation.
- Holding or working towards an AAT qualification (or equivalent).
- Experience with high-volume invoicing or ERP systems.
- Proactive attitude.
