Credit Control Team Leader
London | 12 month fixed term contract | Insurance and Lloyds market
We are working with a leading global insurance organisation that is looking to appoint a Credit Control Team Leader on a 12 month fixed term contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced insurance Credit Controller or existing Team Leader to take responsibility for the day to day management of a London Market credit control function. The role combines hands on premium credit control with team leadership, stakeholder management and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day to day activities and workload of the Credit Control team.
- Support, coach and develop team members, ensuring agreed service levels and targets are achieved.
- Manage and reduce aged premium debt across the portfolio.
- Act as an escalation point for complex credit control and premium queries.
- Liaise directly with brokers, underwriters, coverholders and other internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure premium and cash transactions are accurately allocated and reconciled.
- Investigate and resolve outstanding balances, unallocated cash and premium discrepancies.
- Monitor team performance and produce regular management information and reporting.
- Maintain appropriate credit control procedures, controls and documentation.
- Work closely with Finance, Underwriting, Operations and other business areas to resolve premium collection issues.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls and overall team efficiency.

Experience Required

- Previous experience within insurance credit control, premium collections or insurance accounts.
- Previous team management, supervisory or mentoring experience.
- Strong knowledge of the London Insurance Market and or Lloyds market.
- Experience dealing with brokers, underwriters and insurance market stakeholders.
- A good understanding of premium processing, reconciliations, slips, closings and endorsements.
- Strong problem solving skills with the ability to resolve complex premium and cash queries.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong Excel and reporting capabilities.
