Change Accountancy & Finance is delighted to be partnering with a well-established organisation to recruit a Credit Control Manager on an initial 6-month temporary contract, with the potential to become permanent. Based in Edinburgh, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced credit control and debt recovery professional to join a growing business undergoing positive change. On offer is a salary of £38,000 to £45,000 with a hybrid policy.

Role Overview

This is a hands-on and commercially focused Credit Control Manager position responsible for managing arrears, collections, and debt recovery activities across the full customer lifecycle. Working closely with customers, third-party partners, and internal stakeholders, you will be responsible for maximising recovery outcomes, reducing aged debt, and ensuring a positive customer experience throughout the collections process. Alongside managing complex cases, you will help develop reporting, analyse performance data, identify operational improvements, and support the implementation of more efficient processes. This role would suit a proactive and self-motivated individual who enjoys taking ownership, influencing change, and working within a fast-paced, regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage arrears cases across the full collections and recovery lifecycle.
  • Lead the recovery of delinquent accounts, including complex and later-stage arrears cases.
  • Negotiate sustainable repayment arrangements with customers and support positive outcomes.
  • Manage legal recovery and enforcement activity involving Debt Collection Agencies, Sheriff Officers, and legal firms.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the organisation, outsourced collections providers, and arrears management platform teams.
  • Analyse arrears and recovery data to identify trends, recovery opportunities, and operational risks.
  • Produce regular management information and reporting for senior leadership teams.
  • Develop and improve credit control, arrears management, and debt recovery processes.
  • Identify and implement process improvements through automation and AI solutions.
  • Manage relationships with Credit Reference Agencies, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance.
  • Handle communications relating to Debt Management Companies and Insolvency Practitioners.
  • Ensure all activity complies with FCA requirements, Consumer Duty principles, and relevant regulatory obligations.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
