Job Opportunity: Credit Controller Specialist

Due to the continued expansion of the business and increasing demands, we’re looking for a Credit Controller Specialist to join our Credit Control team at Birchwood Park, Warrington.
About the Role
In this dynamic role as a Credit Controller Specialist, you will oversee and manage customer credit risk, ensuring the timely collection of outstanding debts. You will work to minimize bad debt exposure while fostering strong customer relationships and upholding robust credit control procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Cash collection - chase due and overdue payments via phone, email, and written correspondence
- Aged debt reduction
- Query resolution / problem solving - liaising with sales and operations
- Monitor customer credit exposure
- Reviewing, increasing / decreasing customer credit limits where applicable
- Review customer financial information and credit reports to assess risk
- Place accounts on stop/hire suspension when necessary, in line with policy
- Support legal action debt recovery when required
- Allocate cash receipts accurately and reconcile customer accounts
- Ensure adherence to internal credit policies and procedures

Role Details
- Hybrid working: 3 days per week in the Warrington Support Office

Essential Skills and Behaviours
- Demonstrate excellent administrative/organizational abilities and a keen eye for detail and accuracy
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills at all levels
Desirable Skills and Behaviours
- Proven track record in a target-driven environment
- Proven experience in a credit control or accounts receivable role
- Experience within equipment rental, construction, plant hire, or a similar asset-based industry
- Knowledge of rental billing cycles and contract-based invoicing
- Experience working with credit reference agencies
