A typical day as a Credit Control Team Leader
No two days look exactly the same here, and that’s part of what makes it work.
As a Credit Control Team Leader, you'll lead all operational aspects linked to Credit Control, including team management, delivery of collection targets and proactive engagement and managing key stakeholders. You’ll be a point of escalation and act as a deputy to the Head of Credit.
You will be part of the extended FSSC Leadership Team and be expected to contribute and deliver initiatives leading to the overall improvement and profile raising of the department.
What you’ll be doing
- Ensure credit policy & processes are understood and adhered to
- Recognise credit risk and swiftly act upon information to minimise bad debt exposure & write off
- Propose payment plans with customers for presentation to Head of Credit
- Ensure accurate, timely and professional invoice query resolution
- Monitor and achieve departmental KPIs
- Set team and individual targets (weekly/monthly)
- Deliver regular monitoring of accounts and ledger reviews
- Drive achievement of cash collection targets
- Identify ways to improve debt collection
- Identify training and skills gaps and create appropriate training plans

You don’t need to tick every single box, but you’ll likely bring:
- Minimum 5 years in Credit with a minimum of 2 in management of at least 5 colleagues
- Strong communication skills
- Experience working within a fast paced environment
- Ability to demonstrate a track record of developing others using an array of techniques.
- Ability to interpret data quickly and act upon it
