Credit Control Team Leader
12-Month Fixed-Term Contract | Maternity Cover

The opportunity
An established specialist insurance business is seeking a Credit Control Team Leader to oversee the day-to-day operation of its credit control team on a 12-month fixed-term contract covering maternity leave. This is an opportunity for an experienced credit control professional to support team performance, improve the management of aged debt and build effective working relationships across the business and with external partners.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day management of the credit control team and act as the escalation point for complex issues.
- Coach and support team members to reduce aged debt, resolve escalated matters and strengthen relationships with back-office processing functions.
- Manage team workflows and capacity, ensuring productivity, targets and objectives are achieved.
- Set and document individual objectives, review team and individual performance, and provide timely feedback.
- Ensure processes and procedures are documented, version-controlled, regularly reviewed and consistently followed.
- Monitor premium and unallocated cash postings for accuracy and support management information (MI) reporting.
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports on required team metrics.
- Develop operational guidance and subject-matter guidance for team processes.
- Liaise with clients, brokers, underwriters and other external contacts to support the timely payment of premiums.
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders across underwriting, operations, finance, delegated underwriting, overseas offices, claims, IT and data analytics, risk, compliance and internal audit.

About you

- Experience in team management, ideally including resourcing, training and development.
- A good understanding of underwriting and underwriting operations.
- Knowledge of Lloyd’s market operational processes and systems.
- Experience working with process development teams and implementing new business processes.
- A strong understanding of insurance credit control and reconciliation is desirable.
- Experience in a credit control department is desirable.
- An essential understanding of slips, associated endorsements and closings.
- Knowledge of Lloyd’s market practices is preferred.
