Your new role:
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Part-Time Credit Controller / Finance Assistant to join the finance team on a maternity cover contract expected to last around nine months. This is a varied and hands-on position offering exposure across credit control, accounts receivable, billing, banking, and general finance administration. Working closely with Project Managers and senior stakeholders across the business, you will play a key role in maintaining healthy cash flow while helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the finance function.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing project set up and amendments within Timemaster
- Processing work in progress and billing for multiple Project Managers
- Raising and issuing client invoices
- Managing the sales ledger and credit control process
- Proactively chasing outstanding debt and reducing aged receivables
- Producing monthly debtor reports and facilitating debtor review meetings
- Resolving customer account queries and building strong customer relationships
- Supporting customer account set up and maintenance
- Completing daily bank reconciliations within Xero
- Managing the accounts inbox and ensuring queries are dealt with efficiently
- Supporting the wider business with office administration duties and acting as a first point of contact for visitors and incoming calls

This role would suit someone who enjoys a broad position where no two days are the same and who takes pride in building relationships while maintaining strong financial controls.
What you'll need to succeed:
- Previous experience within credit control, accounts receivable or a finance assistant position
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Confidence managing collections activity and customer queries
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workload effectively
- Good attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Intermediate Excel skills and strong Microsoft Office knowledge
- Ability to work independently while also contributing to a collaborative team environment
- Experience using Xero would be advantageous but is not essential as training can be provided
- A flexible and adaptable approach with a willingness to support the wider business where required
