About the Role

Are you an experienced Credit Controller who enjoys building strong customer relationships while delivering excellent cash collection results? This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing and successful organisation where your communication skills, commercial awareness, and ability to resolve outstanding debt will directly contribute to business performance and customer satisfaction.

As part of a successful credit control finance team, you will play a key role in managing customer accounts, maintaining strong client relationships, and ensuring the timely collection of outstanding debt.

Your new role

Reporting to the Credit Manager, you will take ownership of a ledger of customer accounts, proactively managing collection activities while delivering a professional and customer-focused service. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and maintaining a portfolio of customer accounts.
  • Chasing outstanding debt through telephone, email, and written correspondence.
  • Building strong relationships with customers to encourage prompt payment.
  • Negotiating payment plans and resolving account queries.
  • Monitoring aged debt and reducing overdue balances.
  • Investigating and resolving invoice and payment disputes.
  • Allocating cash and reconciling customer accounts.
  • Producing aged debt and collection reports.
  • Supporting credit risk management activities.
  • Working closely with internal departments to ensure excellent customer outcomes

What you'll need to succeed

You will bring previous Credit Control or Accounts Receivable experience, alongside a proven track record of confident credit collections and debt recovery. You will also possess strong customer relationship management skills, excellent communication and negotiation abilities, with the confidence to hold professional conversations regarding outstanding balances.

In addition, you will demonstrate excellent organisational and problem-solving capabilities, strong attention to detail and accuracy, experience using finance systems and Microsoft Excel, and a proactive, resilient approach with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities effectively.

What you'll get in return

The organisation offers flexible hybrid working of 3 days in the office (NR13) with 2 days working from home, 25 days holiday plus the bank holidays, a basic salary plus a yearly bonus. Contact Andy Jarman on 01603 760141 for more details.
