We’re looking for a Credit Controller to join our Finance team.
About the role
Inverarity Morton, Scotland’s leading independent wine and spirits wholesaler, is looking for an organised and confident Credit Controller to join our Finance team. Working within our experienced Credit Control team, you will manage customer accounts, collect outstanding balances, help protect cash flow and control credit risk. You will work closely with customers, our Sales team and colleagues across the business, balancing effective debt collection with positive customer relationships.

Key responsibilities
- Proactively collect outstanding customer balances by telephone and email, agreeing and monitoring payment arrangements within company procedures.
- Allocate customer payments accurately and promptly, and prepare and process Direct Debit collections.
- Carry out credit checks and assist with the approval and set-up of new customer accounts.
- Monitor credit limits, payment terms and account status, identifying and escalating overdue balances and potential credit risks.
- Investigate and resolve account and payment queries, liaising with customers and the Sales team.
- Provide administrative support to the Credit Control and wider Finance team.
About you
- Confident and professional in customer conversations, including when dealing with overdue payments.
- Organised, numerate and accurate, with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise a busy workload.
- A supportive team player who builds effective working relationships.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Excel, Outlook and business systems, and willing to learn new processes.
- Previous experience in credit control, accounts receivable or finance administration is preferred. We will also consider candidates with strong relevant administrative and customer service experience.

Working hours
- Monday to Thursday: 9.30am–5.30pm
- Friday: 9.30am–4.00pm
