Are you a proactive and service-led Credit Controller? Fancy joining a lively and fast-paced Creative Agency?
Our client is a vibrant and successful media business looking for an experienced Credit Controller to take ownership of their current and historic debtors ledger.
The billing team is already in place, so this is a chance to be the specialist. You'll have real autonomy and plenty of visibility, working closely with senior finance leadership. If you like getting stuck in, taking initiative and building great relationships along the way, this one's for you.
This is a 12-month contract initially with permanent potential.
Credit Controller - Responsibilities
- Ledger Ownership: Take charge of a debtors ledger, with c.£80m in annual billings and around 100 invoices raised each week, some of them larger. Most clients pay on time, so your focus is on keeping things healthy and spotting issues early.
- Proactive Collections: Chase overdue invoices by phone and email, escalating where needed, and always keeping client relationships in good shape.
- Query Resolution: Work closely with the billing team to resolve queries and disputes quickly and fix any invoicing issues at source.
- Cash Allocation & Reconciliation: Allocate cash accurately and keep accounts reconciled.
- Risk Monitoring: Keep a close eye on the ledger, flagging trends, slow payers and potential risks before they become problems.
- Reporting & Stakeholder Engagement: Report on debtor positions to the CFO, the Billing Manager and, where relevant, the Commercial Manager, building strong working relationships across the business.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
