Credit Controller
London | 5 Days Office Based | Growing Alternative Finance Lender
My client is a well-established and growing alternative finance lender providing funding solutions to SMEs and businesses across the UK.
Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced Credit Controller to join their team. This is a great opportunity to join an ambitious lender with a strong presence in the market and plenty of scope to develop within the business.
The Role
As Credit Controller, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of customer accounts, ensuring payments are received in line with agreed terms and dealing with any overdue balances in a professional and proactive manner.

- Managing and monitoring a portfolio of customer accounts
- Chasing outstanding and overdue payments by telephone and email
- Building strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders
- Resolving payment queries and account discrepancies
- Agreeing payment plans where appropriate
- Maintaining accurate records of all collections activity
- Identifying potential issues or higher-risk accounts at an early stage
- Working closely with Credit, Underwriting, and wider operational teams
- Supporting month-end reporting and aged debt reviews
The Candidate
The successful candidate must have 3–5 years’ previous Credit Control experience.
You will also ideally have:
- A strong track record within Credit Control / Collections
- Confident telephone and communication skills
- Experience managing your own portfolio of accounts
- Strong organisation and attention to detail
- A proactive and commercially minded approach
- The ability to build relationships while remaining confident when chasing outstanding payments

Experience within financial services, lending, or commercial finance would be advantageous but is not essential.
