Company Description

As our business continues to grow and expand across the UK, our Finance team is growing with it. We have an exciting opportunity for a driven and tenacious Credit Controller to join our team and wear the SOCOTEC badge with pride. You will work within our Credit Control function, managing outstanding debts and maintaining positive relationships with both customers and internal stakeholders — giving you genuine exposure to the financial heartbeat of a leading TIC organisation.

About Central Services

Based in Burton-on-Trent, SOCOTEC UK's Head Office houses our Central Services teams. These teams provide a corporate structure to support the wider business. Central Services is broken down into five main areas: Human Resources, Marketing and Communications, Finance, and IT. Each of these areas is vital to the day-to-day running of SOCOTEC.

Job Description

  • Ensure cash collection targets are met consistently
  • Monitor and action all credit control mailboxes accordingly
  • Follow the dunning strategy to manage outstanding debts effectively
  • Ensure all invoices are paid in line with agreed payment terms
  • Promote a positive image of SOCOTEC central finance both internally and externally
  • Assist colleagues across the Finance team where required
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with customers and SOCOTEC staff

Qualifications

  • A people person able to develop and foster working relationships with customers and SOCOTEC staff
  • Numerate, organised, logical, and tenacious approach to debt collection
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and SAGE would be advantageous
  • Previous experience in a service-based industry would be advantageous
  • Credit control experience in a service-based industry would be highly desirable
