We’re looking for an experienced Credit Controller to join the team at AW Lumb & Co Ltd, based at our Head Office in Dewsbury.
Reporting to the Finance Director, you’ll play an important role across the whole business, taking responsibility for the timely collection of customer debt while helping us maintain strong customer relationships and manage credit risk effectively.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll be managing customer accounts, resolving queries and working closely with colleagues across the business to keep payments and accounts moving.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers
- Managing and maximising the collection of outstanding debt
- Monitoring customer accounts and reviewing arrears
- Contacting customers by phone, email and letter
- Investigating and resolving account and payment queries
- Working with internal teams to resolve issues quickly
- Processing customer payments and managing the company payment platform
- Opening new customer accounts in line with company procedures
- Liaising with our credit insurer and reviewing credit limits
- Producing reports on cash turn, over-trading and overall ledger health
- Recommending improvements to our credit control processes
- Reconciling daily trade counter takings and preparing cash for banking at our Dewsbury branch

What We’re Looking For
You’ll be comfortable taking ownership of a busy credit control function and confident communicating with customers at all levels.
You’ll need to be organised, commercially aware and able to balance effective debt collection with maintaining positive customer relationships. Just as importantly, you’ll be someone who spots problems, follows them through and isn’t afraid to pick up the phone when something needs resolving.

- Hours: 8.30am - 5pm Monday to Friday
- Holiday: 22 days plus Bank Holidays
