Full Time

Fixed Term - Maternity Cover - up to 12 Months

Based at Nottingham - NG2

Global Fire and Security Systems are an independent company established in Nottingham since 1999. We have since developed into market leaders in providing quality product solutions throughout the fire and security marketplace nationwide.

Thanks to a combined wealth of knowledge and experience, Global have become industry experts in the design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of fire safety, fire suppression and security systems.

We are now seeking to appoint a Credit Controller at our Nottingham head office at NG2 Business Park on a fixed term basis to cover maternity leave.

Job Purpose:

To ensure timely debt collection, accurate cash allocation, effective credit administration, and excellent customer support while helping maintain a healthy sales ledger and supporting the credit control team.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing queries from customers promptly and communicating with customer service and sales to resolve these
  • Chasing overdue invoices via telephone and email
  • Take a proactive role in managing and collecting debt and ensuring overdue debt is kept within targets set
  • Cash allocation ensuring that cash is allocated daily and accurately to maintain up to date ledger
  • Review credit applications and run credit check reports
  • Raising credit approval notes and processing credit notes
  • Produce and issue monthly statements to customers
  • Providing support to the senior credit controller
  • Other ad hoc duties as required

About You

  • Experience of working within a credit control role
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficient IT skills - knowledge of accounts software like Sage, Microsoft Excel and other Office suite applications
  • Ability to solve problems
  • Ability to work to deadlines and manage workload
