This is an exciting full time on site role:
Carry out all credit control procedures to ensure timely recovery of customers’ debts.
- Provide regular updates to the Office Manager and Financial Controller regarding recovery progress of any overdue debts.
- Maintain accurate Sales Ledger records in respect of new customers and changes to existing customers’ details.
- Ensure that all sales invoices raised by secretarial staff have been updated to the appropriate ledgers.
- Prepare regular payments runs for settlement of suppliers’ accounts. Prepare all other sundry payments (e.g. for payment of taxes, pensions etc) as instructed by Financial Controller.
- Deal with any queries from customers and suppliers in a courteous and professional manner to maintain the reputational integrity of the business.
- Prepare monthly payroll and pension records and quarterly VAT returns for review by Financial Controller and make submissions to HMRC and Pensions Regulator in accordance with statutory requirements.
- Maintain the petty cash box and records. Carry out a regular reconciliation of the balance.
- Assist Financial Controller as required with all other accounting aspects including but not confined to maintaining the Cash Book and related bank reconciliations, the general ledger and the Purchases and Sales ledgers.
- Assist Financial Controller as required with the preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts and with the annual accounts
- Assist Financial Controller with the creation of yearly budgets, monitoring cash flow and the tracking of financial forecasts.
- Ensure appropriate, timely filing of all documentation and records.

Requirements and skills:

- Qualification: Part or fully qualified accountant or with the equivalent work experience.
- Software skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and cloud-based accounting platforms like Xero and Sage.
- Attention to Detail: High accuracy level in data entry, number crunching, and spotting financial discrepancies.
- Communication: Ability to clearly explain financial insights to the management team.
