Credit Controller - Retail Industry

About the Role
As a Credit Controller in the retail industry based in Runcorn, you'll play a key role in managing and maintaining the company's credit accounts to ensure smooth financial operations. Your day-to-day will involve liaising with clients, monitoring payments, and resolving any account queries efficiently.

Description
- Monitor customer accounts to ensure timely payments and manage overdue invoices.
- Handle customer queries and resolve discrepancies in a professional manner.
- Prepare and issue invoices, credit notes, and account statements.
- Conduct credit checks and assess potential risks for new and existing clients.
- Maintain accurate records of all transactions and communications.
- Work closely with the sales and finance teams to ensure alignment on credit policies.
- Generate regular reports on debtor balances and collection progress.
- Implement and improve credit control procedures as needed.

Profile
A successful Credit Controller should have:
- Experience in credit control or a similar role in the accounting and finance sector.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
