Role Overview
At Harvard Bioscience ("HBio"), we empower the world's leading scientists to push the boundaries of discovery. As our Credit Controller, located in Cambridge, UK, you are the guardian of the company's liquidity. You don't just "collect debt"—you manage the vital relationships and financial pathways that ensure our global operations remain fueled and ready for innovation.
This role is a blend of financial precision and strategic communication. You will own the sales ledger from end-to-end, ensuring "right-first-time" accuracy in reconciliations while navigating the complexities of international trade and compliance. You must have authorization to work in the United Kingdom.
Our Values & How We Work Together
We are looking for a teammate who finds purpose in our core principles:
- Ownership of Outcomes: You focus on the "why," not just the task. You'll have the autonomy to manage your ledger, stay ahead of aged debt, and keep the big picture in focus.
- Integrity & Accountability: In Finance, precision is principle. We value transparency in reporting and see every reconciliation discrepancy as an opportunity to improve our systems.
- Urgency & Excellence: Cash flow is the heartbeat of the business. You work with a healthy sense of urgency to resolve "orders for release" and hit DSO targets.
- Collaborative Success: You'll partner closely with the Global Credit & Collections Manager and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless intercompany recharges and audit readiness.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
