Role: Credit Controller
Salary: £28,000 - £33,000 + 10% monthly bonus Benefits: Monthly bonus of up to 10% based on your own performance Working Pattern: Fully office-based, 37.5 hours per week Location: South Manchester Start Date: ASAP
Talent Accountancy & Finance are looking for a commercially minded Credit Controller who knows good credit control is about people, not just chasing invoices. You'll own a key ledger and the relationships that come with it, and be the person customers actually want to speak to, so your ledger gets paid first. There's plenty of work on client portals and self-bill reconciliations too, so you'll need to be a bit of both: great on the phone and sharp on the detail.
You'll report to a first-class AR Manager and be part of a team that hits its numbers and has fun doing it. Your monthly bonus is based on your own performance, so earning that bit extra is in your own hands.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
