Role Description

The Credit Hire Solicitor will handle a caseload of credit hire recovery matters, including issuing proceedings, drafting pleadings, and managing cases through to settlement or trial.

Day-to-day responsibilities include advising clients on liability, quantum, and litigation risk, negotiating with opposing parties, and ensuring accurate and timely progression of files.

The role involves close collaboration with internal teams, attending court hearings where required, and maintaining high standards of client care and compliance with regulatory and firm policies.

This is a full-time hybrid role based in Bolton, with a combination of office-based work and some work from home.

The solicitor will be expected to contribute to best practices, support junior team members where appropriate, and help strengthen Rileys’ reputation for effective and compassionate representation.

Qualifications

  • Strong grounding in Law with experience in Civil Litigation or Personal Injury, particularly credit hire recovery.
  • Qualified Solicitor (or equivalent legal qualification) with relevant post-qualification experience in litigation.
  • Excellent legal drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills, with attention to detail and sound judgment.
  • Proven ability to manage a busy caseload, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a hybrid environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-focused, empathetic, and professional approach.
  • Competence with case management systems and standard office software; willingness to engage in ongoing professional development.
