Help us keep creditor relationships working for the customers behind them
A Debt Management Plan depends on accurate information, reliable payment arrangements and constructive communication with creditors. When something does not match or an agreed action has not happened, resolving it quickly can prevent additional worry for the customer.
We are recruiting a Creditor Liaison Officer to join our Business Enablement Team in Salford. You will manage telephone and written contact with creditors, investigate account queries and make sure records, arrangements and next steps are accurate.
This is a hands-on operational role. You will be professional and collaborative, while having the confidence to challenge evidence or outcomes when something is not right. Although most of your contact will be with creditors, fair customer outcomes sit at the centre of the work.
What you'll be doing
- Managing inbound and outbound creditor contact by telephone, email, secure messaging, portals and correspondence.
- Investigating queries about Debt Management Plans, balances, payments, allocations and account status.
- Establishing, maintaining and confirming payment arrangements within agreed processes.
- Correcting inaccurate records and challenging incomplete or unsuitable responses politely and with evidence.
- Owning enquiries through to resolution and completing actions within service-level timescales.
- Updating customer and creditor records, spreadsheets and bulk data accurately.
- Providing Customer Service and other teams with clear facts, actions, ownership and timescales.
- Escalating complex disputes, operational risks or potential customer detriment.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
