Williams Shipping in Southampton is looking to recruit an experienced credit controller to play a crucial role in managing the group credit control. We can offer a fantastic permanent opportunity to an individual to work for a leading business in Southampton and progress their career in a fast-paced and growing organisation. This is a challenging role reporting to the group Finance Director within a small and friendly team with a competitive package and benefits.
Role And Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing the group credit procedures and producing weekly debtor reports.
- Responsible for chasing outstanding debts via phone, email and letters.
- Co-ordinating the timely resolution of customer invoice queries.
- Focus on reducing Debtor Days and minimising credit risk.
- If necessary, initiate and manage the legal proceedings process.
- Allocation of customer cash receipts and statements.
- Other ad-hoc projects and duties to support the accounts team as required.

Skills Required
- Strong communicator, as the role involves interaction with all other departments at all levels throughout the Company.
- Excellent telephone communication and negotiation skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team with a common goal.
- An ability to solve problems in a logical manner, thereby rectifying issues speedily and efficiently.
- Self-motivated and willing to learn.
- Working knowledge of MS Outlook and MS Excel
