Job Title: Associate Director Level 2LOD Credit Banker

Client Overview: My Client, a UK focused bank, is seeking a candidate for the position of a circa Associate Director level 2LOD credit banker.

Role Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7 years current Real Estate sector experience (likely to be development or bridging finance)
  • Must include some tangible experience of Real Estate focused speciality finance (i.e. lending to property lenders)

Role Description: The role is part of the Credit Risk Function which sits in the 2nd Line of Defence and is tasked with:

  • Supporting the Chief Credit Officer “CCO” with credit risk decision making activities
  • Ongoing development, embedding and monitoring of the Bank’s Credit Risk Management Framework
  • Ensuring Credit Risk activities remain effective and relevant to the Bank’s strategic objectives and the prevailing external economic environment

Role Responsibilities:

  • Chair of Credit Approvals Committee “CAC”
  • Exercising a personal delegated lending authority
  • Acting as the primary point of reference and technical expert for:
    • Commercial Investment Real Estate
    • Specialty Finance
    • Asset Based Lending activities undertaken by the Commercial Banking Franchise
  • Ensuring the adequacy and relevance of ongoing resourcing, recruitment and management of sector specific focused Credit Risk sanctioning teams
  • Performing credit risk sanctioning decision making for specific transactions
  • Oversight of the ongoing credit risk performance of specific asset class portfolios
  • Influential in the ongoing evolution and development of the quality of credit risk analysis and presentation undertaken by both 1st Line and 2nd Line, providing support and guidance where appropriate
  • Integral to the continued development and evolution of credit risk processes and systems
