Location: London
Start date: September 2027
Salary: £28,000
Duration: Permanent role with an 18-month development programme
Structure: Office-based at least 4 days per week, within commuting distance

Credit & Political Risk Insurance Operations Apprenticeship Programme

Do you enjoy being organised, paying attention to detail, and helping things run smoothly behind the scenes?

Our Credit & Political Risk team helps businesses protect themselves against financial and political risks when operating around the world. The Operations team ensures everything behind the scenes is organised, accurate, and delivered efficiently, supporting the business in providing excellent service to clients.

As an apprentice, you'll be supported every step of the way. From technical and professional training to working on real projects, you'll gain hands-on experience while learning from your buddy, line manager, and wider team.

What you'll be doing?

  • Learn how insurance solutions support organisations operating internationally.
  • Use your attention to detail skills to ensure client records are accurate and kept up to date.
  • Support the administration of insurance policies and contracts, including updating records and processing documentation changes.
  • Support a range of process improvement projects to identify new ways to improve team efficiency.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the business to ensure we are delivering exceptional service to our clients.

What are we looking for?

No experience is required; we'll teach you everything you need to know! You'll be:

  • Curious and eager to learn about business, global markets, and the insurance industry.
  • Organised and able to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Comfortable working with numbers, data, and information.
  • A strong communicator who enjoys working with different people.
  • Detail-oriented and able to produce accurate, high-quality work.

  • A collaborative team player who enjoys supporting others and contributing to shared goals.

To be eligible for our apprenticeship, you must:

  • Have the full and unrestricted right to work in the UK.
  • Have lived permanently in the UK for the last 3 years.
  • Have achieved a grade C/4 in GCSE English and Maths.
  • Not already hold a qualification that significantly overlaps with the content of this apprenticeship.

  • Online gamified assessment: These games will help us understand your natural strengths and how you approach different situations. There are no right or wrong answers.
  • Pre-recorded video interview: Record your answers to a few questions using your phone or laptop, giving you the chance to tell us more about yourself in a relaxed setting.
  • Assessment centre: Our final stage is an in-person assessment centre. You'll take part in some fun group activities and meet our team in a relaxed setting. This day is all about getting to know you better and for you to see what it's like to be part of Howden and experience our culture. We'll cover all your travel costs for this day!
