Most credit risk roles keep you buried in one book of business, whereas this one puts you across several of the more interesting corners of a specialist lender's book, non-residential and bridging, with a real seat at the table when it comes to shaping how the company manages risk through a shifting market.
This is a company that's built a reputation as one of the better places to grow a career in credit risk, and that comes through in how the team actually operates day to day. It's a close-knit, friendly group rather than a faceless corporate function, and the business has a track record of moving people up quickly when they show they can do the job, so this isn't a role where you sit still for years waiting for a title change.
You'll own the ongoing monitoring of the non-residential and bridging portfolios, picking apart arrears, defaults, forbearance, LTV profile and exposure concentrations to spot where things are moving before they become a problem, and then translating that into recommendations that actually land with senior management and the Group Credit Committee. There's a good mix of the analytical and the commercial here too, from assessing how interest rates or asset liquidity might be squeezing a segment of the book, through to sitting across the table with Product, Underwriting, Legal and Finance to challenge decisions that could affect the risk profile.

Iβm in my final year doing Economics and I donβt know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer β it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) donβt need a masters. Letβs look at the ones youβd be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet β that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
