Role summary
The primary responsibility of the Credit Risk Analyst is to apply effective Credit Risk Management practices and support the Credit Risk Supervisor in identifying potential risks and opportunities that may impact the company’s profitability. Ensuring that all credit limit decisions comply with the MEU Credit Policy, the analyst will employ various analytical techniques, including reviewing and analysing financial statements and other pertinent financial information to assess the stability and financial health of our customers.

The analyst will manage ongoing customer and portfolio reviews, communicate effectively with credit insurers, customers and internal stakeholders, and build strong relationships with Business Units and Sales teams to support understanding of credit policies and decisions. The role will also provide regular credit risk monitoring and financial reporting to the Credit Risk Supervisor, including month-end and year-end requirements, while supporting the ongoing development and effectiveness of the Credit Risk function.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse financial statements, credit reports, payment history and other relevant information to support credit decisions.
- Proactively review the creditworthiness of existing customers to identify risk and growth opportunities.
- Assess and approve or recommend appropriate credit limits in line with the MEU-UK Credit Policy.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with Sales, Credit Insurers and other key internal and external stakeholders.
- Produce regular KPI and portfolio reporting to support visibility and effective credit risk management.
- Complete month-end Credit Risk reporting, including overdue positions, credit exposure, bad debt and other key risk metrics for management review.
- Maintain accurate customer data, credit records and related administration to support reporting accuracy and process control.
- Support the Credit Risk Supervisor with system improvements and wider departmental initiatives.
