Job Title: Credit Risk Analyst

Location: Hybrid (3 days In Office)

Salary: Up to £85,000 + benefits

Employment Type: Permanent

Start Date: Immediate

Industry: Energy & Commodity Trading

We're working with a leading, utility-backed global energy trading house to hire a Credit Risk Analyst for their London office.

You'll join the Middle Office credit function, reporting to the Credit Risk Manager and the team manages counterparty risk across a global portfolio, with a focus on EMEA and the Americas.

You'll work closely with credit and quantitative credit colleagues, as well as Trading, Legal, Compliance, Treasury, Market Risk and IT. The role is about delivering robust credit assessments, monitoring exposures and supporting commercially balanced credit decisions.

Credit Risk Analyst – Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out timely, thorough credit reviews of new and existing counterparties. This includes identifying key risks, recommending internal ratings and limits, and proposing suitable credit structures and contractual protections.
  • Assess the credit exposure created by new and existing trades. You'll work with quantitative colleagues to build current exposure, PFE and other risk measures into your recommendations.
  • Negotiate credit terms, financial covenants and credit support provisions within commodity trading agreements, alongside Legal, Trading and Origination.
  • Monitor daily counterparty and portfolio exposures, investigate limit usage or breaches, and recommend mitigating actions so that trading stays within approved parameters.
  • Analyse sector, regional and energy market developments to spot emerging credit risks, then provide clear updates to Credit Management and Credit Committees.
  • Support counterparty onboarding and periodic reviews, keeping credit information accurate and up to date in the relevant systems.
  • Produce clear, insightful credit risk reporting, including KPIs, portfolio analysis, stress testing and scenario analysis.
  • Contribute to process improvement, data integrity and control enhancements across the credit function.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
