Credit Risk Assistant Manager

A foreign bank is currently recruiting a Credit Risk Assistant Manager to join its Risk Management & Control Department in London.

The role will focus on independent credit review and analysis of new and existing structured finance transactions, as well as regular monitoring of the branch’s credit portfolio. You will also provide credit risk control and monitoring as a second line of defence for the Branch’s corporate banking and structured finance businesses.

Main Responsibilities

  • Conduct independent credit analysis and review of new and existing structured finance transactions and prepare review reports for Credit Committee meetings
  • Analyse the Branch’s credit portfolio and prepare quarterly portfolio review reports, including industry and macro-economic analysis
  • Research credit-related issues, including UK and relevant jurisdictional regulatory, industry, and macro-economic developments
  • Review Front Office documentation from a credit risk perspective and attend customer meetings or site visits where required
  • Coordinate Credit Committee meetings, including agendas, proceedings, and minutes
  • Monitor credit risk and the Branch’s risk appetite for structured finance business
  • Maintain and update credit review policies and procedures in line with UK regulatory expectations and coordinate with Head Office and relevant authorities
  • Support senior management reporting and other credit risk management activities

Ideal Candidate

  • Strong experience in credit analysis and credit risk review, ideally within structured finance or corporate banking
  • Ability to independently assess credit risks and provide recommendations for new and existing transactions
  • Experience analysing financial, industry, macro-economic, and regulatory information
  • Strong understanding of credit risk management and internal credit rating systems
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with Front Office and Head Office credit teams
  • Strong communication, reporting, and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience working with financial institutions is essential
  • Experience with UK or European credit risk and regulatory requirements is advantageous

Conditions

  • Location: London
  • Working Style: hybrid (3 days in office)
  • Salary: up to £80,000, plus bonus, and annual cash allowance
  • Job Type: permanent, full-time
  • Working Hours: 8:45–16:45 from Monday to Friday
  • Start: negotiable
