Credit Risk Modelling Consultant / Manager
At Campion Pickworth, we’re looking for a Credit Risk Modelling Consultant / Manager to join a technically strong team working on high-impact projects across IFRS 9, IRB, scorecards, model validation, stress testing and wider credit risk analytics.
This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to stay close to the modelling while gaining significant exposure to clients, different portfolios and a broad range of credit risk challenges.
What you'll be doing
Depending on your experience, you could be involved in:
- Developing, testing, calibrating and documenting credit risk models.
- IFRS 9 / ECL modelling across PD, LGD and related methodologies.
- IRB and regulatory capital modelling and validation.
- Application and behavioural scorecard development.
- Credit risk forecasting and stress testing.
- Independent model validation, review and benchmarking.
- Model monitoring, back-testing and performance analysis.
- Working with client data to build robust, reproducible modelling datasets.
- Translating complex modelling outputs into clear recommendations for clients and senior stakeholders.
- Supporting wider model risk management, governance, controls and regulatory projects.
- Taking ownership of workstreams and, at Manager level, leading project delivery and supporting more junior team members.
- Building trusted relationships with clients and contributing to the growth of the consultancy.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
