Our client is seeking an experienced Interim Credit Specialist to support a high-profile project focusing on financial calculations, regulatory compliance, and customer credit processes within a lending financial services organisation in the Northamptonshire area.
Your new role
This role will suit a commercially minded credit professional with strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of consumer credit products, settlements, interest calculations, and regulatory requirements. Based on the content of the position will play a key role in reviewing, validating, and improving financial calculation methodologies and customer account processes.
Key duties
- Review and validate financial calculations across the customer lifecycle.
- Support settlements, refinancing, repayment schedules, and account servicing activities.
- Investigate calculation discrepancies and identify root causes.
- Ensure compliance with consumer credit regulations and lending policies.
- Work closely with operational, risk, compliance, and technology teams.
- Assist with remediation projects, customer redress programmes, and historical account reviews.
- Maintain accurate documentation, controls, and audit trails.
- Produce MI and reporting on risks, performance, and calculation accuracy.

What you'll need to succeed
- Proven experience within Consumer Credit, Finance, Banking, or Lending environments.
- Strong understanding of credit calculations, interest methodologies, settlements, and repayment structures.
- Experience supporting regulatory change, compliance, or remediation projects.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to interpret complex regulations and translate them into practical business processes.
- Advanced Excel and data analysis experience desirable.
