🚨 Credit Underwriter | Remote with Occasional London Travel | Alternative Lending 🚨
I'm currently working with a fast-growing alternative lender and brokerage that is looking to hire a Credit Underwriter to join its expanding team.
This is an excellent opportunity to join an ambitious, entrepreneurial business that provides fast, flexible funding solutions of up to £5m to SMEs across the UK.
📍 Location: Primarily Remote, with occasional travel to the London office for team meetings and collaboration.
💼 The Opportunity
As a Credit Underwriter, you'll play a key role in assessing and approving business loan applications, helping to drive commercially sound lending decisions while supporting the growth of UK SMEs.

🔍 Key Responsibilities
- Assess the creditworthiness of SME borrowers seeking facilities up to £500k
- Analyse financial statements, management accounts, bank data, and credit reports
- Make informed lending decisions within delegated authority limits
- Work closely with brokers, introducers, and internal sales teams
- Balance risk management with a commercial, solutions-focused approach
✅ What We're Looking For
- Experience in underwriting, credit analysis, or SME lending
- Strong financial analysis and risk assessment skills
- Commercial judgement and a pragmatic approach to lending decisions
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growing environment
- Experience within alternative lending or broker-led transactions would be advantageous
