Role Description
The Credit Underwriter is a full-time, on-site role based in Altrincham. This role is responsible for assessing credit applications, analyzing financial information, and making sound lending decisions in line with Swiftfund’s risk policies. Day-to-day activities include:

The Credit Underwriter will collaborate with sales, operations, and risk teams to clarify application details, ensure a smooth approval process, and maintain high standards of customer service. The role also involves monitoring portfolio performance, identifying emerging risks, and recommending improvements to underwriting criteria and processes.
Qualifications
- Strong Credit Underwriting and Underwriting experience, with a solid understanding of unsecured business loans.
- Excellent Analytical Skills, including the ability to interpret financial statements and assess risk.
- Effective Communication skills for working with internal teams and explaining decisions clearly to stakeholders.
- Practical knowledge of Loans, lending products, and relevant credit policies or guidelines.
- Previous experience in commercial or SME lending, banking, or financial services is highly beneficial.
- Attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to make consistent, evidence-based decisions under time constraints.
- Comfort with using digital tools and credit systems to process applications and maintain records.
- Relevant education in finance, economics, business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
