The role

As a Career Development Practitioner within the Crisis Resolution & Home Treatment Team (CRHT), you'll provide specialist crisis assessment and intervention while developing the advanced clinical, leadership and prescribing skills needed to progress into a Band 7 Senior Mental Health Practitioner role.

You'll:

  • Undertake comprehensive mental health and risk assessments during periods of acute crisis
  • Develop collaborative recovery and care plans with service users and carers
  • Deliver evidence-based interventions and monitor outcomes
  • Work closely with families, emergency services, GPs and community partners
  • Support gatekeeping assessments and alternatives to hospital admission
  • Build leadership experience through shift coordination, supervision and service improvement

About the service

The Crisis Resolution & Home Treatment Team provides rapid assessment, treatment and intensive support for people experiencing mental health crises, helping individuals receive the right care while remaining safely at home whenever possible.

The team works closely with:

  • Mental Health Liaison Services
  • Neighbourhood Mental Health Teams
  • The Haven and Blue Light Services
  • Emergency services, GPs and voluntary sector partners
  • Inpatient mental health services

What we're looking for

We're seeking a Registered Mental Health Nurse who has:

  • Current NMC registration
  • Significant post-registration mental health experience
  • Experience undertaking comprehensive mental health and risk assessments
  • Community mental health experience and multidisciplinary working skills
  • A passion for urgent mental healthcare and career progression into advanced practice
