Build Your Future in Criminal Defence with Bhatia Best

Police Station Accredited Representatives, LPC Graduates and Future Criminal Defence Solicitors Wanted

At Bhatia Best Solicitors, we are passionate about developing the next generation of criminal defence lawyers.

We are looking for ambitious and driven individuals to join our highly regarded Criminal Defence Department in Nottingham, with a particular focus on attracting Police Station Accredited Representatives, LPC graduates, and aspiring lawyers who are ready to take the next step towards qualification and a long-term career in criminal law.

Whilst we welcome applications from Paralegals with strong career aspirations, this recruitment round is specifically aimed at candidates who already hold Police Station Accreditation, have completed the LPC, or are well advanced in their route to qualification and seeking practical experience within a leading criminal defence practice.

Why Criminal Defence?

Criminal law is one of the most challenging, dynamic and rewarding areas of legal practice.

  • Every day is different. You may be advising a client at a Police Station in the early hours of the morning, preparing a case for the Magistrates’ Court, assisting with a Crown Court trial, or helping a vulnerable individual navigate the criminal justice system.

Unlike many areas of law, criminal defence places you at the heart of the action from day one. It demands strong communication skills, resilience, quick thinking and a genuine desire to make a meaningful difference to people’s lives.

For those who thrive on responsibility, advocacy and human interaction, few legal careers offer the same breadth of experience or opportunities for development.

Why Bhatia Best?

Bhatia Best is one of the East Midlands’ leading law firms, with recognised expertise across:

  • Criminal Defence
  • Family Law
  • Personal Injury
  • Public Law
  • Community Care

Our Criminal Defence Department acts for clients across the region and has built a reputation for delivering exceptional legal representation, often in the most challenging circumstances.

We understand that investing in people is the key to our continued success. Many of our solicitors, supervisors and managers started their careers in junior roles within the firm and progressed through hard work, training and opportunity.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
