Criminal Solicitor — Position Overview
Work across all aspects of criminal law, from advisory work and police stations through to the Court of Appeal

Key Responsibilities of the Criminal Solicitor
- Handling all aspects of criminal law, from advisory work to proceedings in the Court of Appeal and all stages in between
- Attending and advising clients at police stations
- Conducting advocacy and developing advocacy skills
- Providing quality advice to clients and demonstrating the highest standards of client care
- Organising your own workload and meeting deadlines
- Working flexibly as part of the criminal department

Requirements of the Criminal Solicitor
- Qualified Solicitor, ideally as a Duty Solicitor (training and support provided to the right candidate if not already qualified)
- An experienced advocate, or someone with the enthusiasm to develop advocacy skills
- A first-rate knowledge of criminal law and procedure
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with exceptional attention to detail
- The ability to organise work and meet deadlines, with good IT skills
- The highest standards of client care and a flexible approach to work
